Romania developer seeks construction of four small hydros

Romania hydro developer SC Hidro Este SRL seeks bids for construction of four small hydroelectric projects and bids to supply turbine-generators and other equipment in Romania. Bids in separate solicitations are due June 27 and 28.

As a European Union member, Romania is obligated to attempt to supply a minimum of 35 percent of its electricity from renewable energy sources including hydropower by 2015 and 38 percent by 2020.

Hidro Este issued two solicitation notices. One seeks bids by noon June 27 to execute works and installation of an integrated project comprising small hydro projects Pascoaia 1, 2, and 3 on the Pascoaia River and Priboiasa 1 on the Priboiasa River in Romania. The work is valued at 38.2 million leu (US$13.2 million). Tender documents may be obtained until June 20 from the address below.

The developer also seeks bids by noon June 28 for turbines, generators, transformers, and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) equipment. The work is valued at 27.6 million leu (US$9.6 million). Tender documents may be obtained until June 20 from the address below.
