French utility seeks turbine injectors for 97-MW Nentilla

Electricite de France (EDF) seeks bids for supply of eight injector bodies for the 97-MW Nentilla hydroelectric project in France's Aude Department. The utility also is qualifying suppliers for turbine components for its portfolio of hydro projects.

EDF took bids in 2009 for refurbishment of a penstock at Nentilla on the Aude River.

The utility now seeks bids by May 24 for eight injector bodies for Pelton turbines 1 and 2 at Nentilla. Work is to include design of new injectors from site surveys and old parts, manufacture from cast steel, installation, and testing. The work is to require seven months.

Tender documents may be obtained from the address below. Bids, in French, are due by 4 p.m. May 24.

EDF qualifies parts suppliers for hydro projects

Electricite de France also invites manufacturing companies to qualify to provide several types of turbine-generator components to projects in the French utility's hydroelectric system.

The utility issued four qualification system notices, the latest among several by EDF seeking equipment and services to refurbish its hydro projects.

EDF said it is establishing qualification systems that will enable it to consult panels of recognized companies that are capable and competent in supplying appropriate components and systems. The qualification systems are of unlimited duration.

In one solicitation, EDF seeks responses from firms to supply turbine governors over 10 years. In a second solicitation, it seeks firms to supply voltage regulation systems with excitation systems over 10 years.

Documents for those solicitations may be obtained from the address below. For information, contact Gilles Goffic, Electricite de France, Direction des Achats Agence Hydraulique, 13 rue Jean Girard Madoux, 73026 Chambery, France; (33) 4-79266813; Fax: (33) 4-79266803; E-mail: gilles.goffic@edf.fr; Internet: www.edf.fr.

In a third solicitation, EDF is establishing a qualification system for specialized maintenance, including renovation, installation, and adjustment, of turbine components. Components would include shaft sealing systems, support components such as bearings and their lubrication systems, water inlet devices, oil hydraulic systems, brake systems, turbine dischargers, and labyrinths.

Documents for that solicitation may be obtained from the address below. For information, contact Christophe Bouvier, Electricite de France, Direction des Achats Agence Hydraulique, 13 rue Jean Girard Madoux, 73026 Chambery, France; (33) 4-79266814; Fax: (33) 4-79266803; E-mail: christophe-l.bouvier@edf.fr; Internet: www.edf.fr.

In a fourth solicitation, EDF said it is renewing its qualification system for both turbine designer-manufacturers to build new runners with improved performance, and foundry and machining companies that can manufacture turbine runners identical to existing units.

Documents for that solicitation may be obtained from the address below. For information, contact Delphine Lohner, Electricite de France, Direction des Achats Agence Hydraulique, 13 rue Jean Girard Madoux, 73026 Chambery, France; (33) 4-79266805; Fax: (33) 4-79266803; E-mail: delphine.lohner@edf.fr; Internet: www.edf.fr.
