U.S. reissues call for spillway repair at 50-MW Canyon Ferry

The Bureau of Reclamation's Great Plains Regional Office has reissued a solicitation for spillway concrete apron repair at 50-MW Canyon Ferry Dam in Montana. Bids are expected to be due in early June.

Reclamation previously called for bids for the work on March 3. The agency took bids in January to replace excitation systems at Canyon Ferry, which was built in 1954 on the Missouri River as part of the Pick-Sloan Missouri Basin Project.

The agency seeks work including saw cutting and removal of concrete in the dam spillway and roadway, reinforcement in repair areas, and replacement of concrete. The work is located on steep slopes of the spillway above the water level in the stilling basin and on top of the dam. The estimated valued of the work was increased to $250,000 to $500,000 from the previous estimate of $100,000 to $250,000.

Reclamation said it expects to issue a new solicitation about May 3, with bids to be due about 30 days later, which would be early June.

A pre-solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. R11PS60267 in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box.
