Initial Patuca III hydro project work set to begin in Honduras

First stage works of Honduras' 104-MW Patuca III hydro project will begin in early February, said the general manager of state power company Enee.

Patuca III hydroelectric project test operations are scheduled to begin October 2013 and commercial operations in 2014, reports indicate.

In other news, Brazilian utility sector regulator Aneel has authorized test operations at the 10-MW Caju small hydropower project, according to regulatory filings.

The Caju small hydro project, located in the Brazilian southern state of Santa Catarina, is owned by local power company Energisa.
