Eletrobras to open office in Central America as part of expansion

Brazilian state-run utility holding group and hydro generator Eletrobras will open an office in Panama as part of its internationalization process, a spokesperson for the company told Business News Americas.

This will be Eletrobras' third international office. The group opened offices in Uruguay and Peru in 2010.

According to Eletrobras, the office in Panama might be launched late this month.

The group is currently building the 220-MW Tumarin hydropower project in Nicaragua and has said it is looking for other assets in the region.
