Corps to seek support for lakes, dams construction in Southeast

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks information on contractors capable of supporting lakes and dams construction in the Corps' South Atlantic Division. Responses are due Jan. 21.

The Corps' South Atlantic Division oversees 33 multi-purpose projects, which are used to generate electricity, provide water supplies, and control flooding.

The Corps' Savannah District seeks information on capabilities of contractors to support projects in the broad category of lakes and dams construction within the South Atlantic Division, which includes Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama.

Lakes and dams construction includes new construction, inspection, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment and systems associated with hydropower generating facilities, lock and dam facilities, and oxygen plants. The work is valued at between $500,000 and $2.5 million.

The district seeks to identify small businesses, HubZone small businesses, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned small businesses, and woman-owned businesses with the ability to perform the services.
