Megger names new CEO

British electrical testing firm Megger appointed Jim Fairbairn the company's new CEO Wednesday, effective immediately.

Fairbairn will be based out of the company's headquarters in Dover, UK. Megger manufactures electrical testing and measurement technology for the power industry.

The company operates 6 core manufacturing sites serving more than 23 countries and employing 1,300 people worldwide.

"I am honored and tremendously excited to have been appointed as Megger's next CEO. It is a real privilege to join an organization with an eponymous brand that delivers high-quality products and innovative solutions to the global power industry," he said.

He takes the place of Peter Frank, who retired earlier in 2017.

Before taking the helm at Megger, Fairbairn was divisional CEO at Howden Group, a unit of US-based Colfax Corp.
