Trilliant, a global smart communications leader, said its multi-technology, multi-purpose Smart Communications Platform has reached about 65 percent market share in the UK, in one of the most progressive smart deployments in the world, focusing on delivering real benefits for the consumers.

According to a study commissioned by the European Smart Metering Industry Group, U.K. households have the potential to achieve annual savings of $1.35 billion a year by measuring and managing their electricity use using smart meters.

The government has identified smart meters as key energy efficiency technology and is aiming for about 52 million smart meters to be installed in 30 million homes and businesses in the U.K. by 2019. One of the key barriers to this roll out is the mastery of the business and technical complexities required to ensure successful rollouts.
