Doosan supplies 770 MW combined-cycle power plant in Mexico

Doosan Skoda Power to supply 300-MW steam turbine to Mexico's Empalme I

Doosan Skoda Power is supplying a 300 MW three-casing steam turbine and generator for Mexico’s 770 MW Empalme I combined-cycle natural gas power plant.

A consortium of SENER and OHL chose Doosan to install and commission the equipment at the power plant, located in Sonora state in northwestern Mexico.

The condensing steam turbine with reheat is being designed to withstand high inlet steam temperatures and meet the demanding requirements of operation.

David Zeman, Doosan Skoda Power Latin America manager, says the project will be the company’s largest installation in a Latin American combined-cycle plant to date.

The state-owned electric company CFE will operate the plant upon completed, scheduled for the end of 2017.
