Arkansas cooperative to buy 108 MW from Oklahoma wind power project

Independent renewable energy developer Tradewind Energy secured a long-term agreement with the Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corp. to purchase 108 MW of wind energy from the planned Drift Sand wind power project.

The project will be located about 60 miles southwest of Oklahoma City and is scheduled to be in service by the end of 2016.

The project will cover about 10,000 acres under lease from around 25 landowners in Grady County, Oklahoma.
