Boulder Wind Power boosts wind turbine capacity

Boulder Wind Power (BWP) expanded its product portfolio for onshore and offshore wind turbines.

The company has released ultra-low speed generators, with up to 5.3 MW of power generation capacity, designed for onshore, low-wind speed sites where noise constraints limit speed.

Medium speed generators can produce up to 7.7 MW of wind energy; and low speed can generate up to 7.5 MW.

BWP says its various speed generators also increases energy production up to 15 percent.

The company is currently developing generators for 12-MW offshore turbines that are expected to be released later this year.
