Power grid controls company Varentec will have results from its Grid Edge Control technology presented Thursday, January 30 at 8:30 a.m. at the DistribuTECH conference in San Antonio, Texas.
Varentec's Grid Edge Control solutions, to be presented at DistribuTECH, help utilities monitor and directly control the grid edge to deliver energy savings, photovoltaic integration, voltage & VAR control, demand management, improved asset use, and visibility and analytics for utilities. Varentec investors include Khosla Ventures and Bill Gates.
Varentec is the first company to successfully deploy a large number of distributed, dynamic voltage control devices to optimize a distribution power network.
The benefits possible from Grid Edge Control include better grid reliability, improved power quality, and ability to absorb renewable energy onto the grid.
