As of the end of 2013, Powerit had sold energy demand management systems to control 784 MW of electrical load in North America. In addition, Powerit’s systems enable automated demand response (DR) participants to contribute up to 8 MW per site to DR events. Some of that capacity was recently put to critical use during the “polar vortex” cold snap across the East Coast and Southeast.
Other measures of Powerit’s success with helping industrial businesses cut energy costs and meet corporate sustainability goals include:
· North American customers have saved an estimated $50 million with Powerit technologies.
· Powerit has helped customers obtain $9.8 million in incentive funds from utilities to install or upgrade their equipment to automate demand response and improve energy efficiency.
· Using Powerit technology, customers have removed an estimated 87 MW of demand from utility grids in North America (the equivalent of a small coal power plant).
· These numbers speak to Powerit’s strong momentum heading into 2014. The company delivered on its 2012 strategic plan with the introduction of its cloud-based product, Spara Hub, and the associated Spara Demand Diagnostics analytical tool, as well as expanded partnerships with Rockwell Automation, Mitsubishi Electric Automation, Inductotherm, and other industrial automation and equipment leaders.
