Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE), a unit of Exelon Corp., selected C3 Energy Smart Grid Analytics software to achieve its goal of ensuring cost-effective, efficient and reliable energy delivery as it continues to develop the information technology-enabled infrastructure known as the smart grid.
BGE serves more than 1.25 million electric customers and more than 650,000 gas customers in Central Maryland. C3 Energy Smart Grid Analytics will be deployed across all of BGE's nearly two million electric and gas meters. The first phase of the deployment will begin in the second quarter of 2014, when C3 Revenue Protection and C3 AMI Operations will be deployed.
Some of the focus areas of BGE's partnership with C3 Energy will include AMI operations, revenue assurance, customer experience and system planning. The capabilities will range from meter troubleshooting to evaluation of the effectiveness of demand response and energy efficiency programs.
