PG&E names VP of electric transmission operations

The Pacific Gas and Electric Co. (PG&E) board of directors elected Gregg Lemler as vice president of electric transmission operations, effective December 1, 2013.

Lemler is responsible for overseeing the operation of PG&E's electric transmission system and its substations, and will report to Geisha Williams, the executive vice president of electric operations.

"Gregg proves his commitment to our customers and employees every day," said Tony Earley, chairman, CEO and president of PG&E Corp. "He is constantly looking for opportunities to improve every aspect of transmission operations so that our electric service continues to be safe, reliable and affordable for our customers."

Lemler has more than 30 years of experience within the utility industry, including positions in power generation, gas and electric distribution, substation and electric transmission at PG&E. Most recently, Lemler served as senior director of the Transmission System Operations organization.

In this role, he has overseen the safe, reliable and compliant operation of the company's electric transmission grid. Lemler has played a key role in delivering reliability improvements for customers, including an initiative to reduce the number of planned outages that customers experience, as well as the development of a work method that allows employees to perform work on energized transmission lines using helicopters.
