Alstom to service three North American power plants

Alstom won a pair of long-term service agreements for three natural gas fired power plants in the U.S. and Canada. The contracts have a combined value of more than $230 million.

The first is a contract for EquiPower’s, Milford combined cycle power station in Connecticut. The group was also chosen to execute a long-term contract with TransAlta in Canada for their Sarnia Cogeneration Power Plant in Ontario and Poplar Creek Cogeneration Power Plant in Alberta. Both TransAlta plants operate Alstom built GT11N2 gas turbines while EquiPower uses Alstom’s GT24 turbines.

The scope of both contracts includes parts replacement, reconditioning services, outage management, labor and on-site support staff, and optional gas turbine upgrades to increase performance and reduce maintenance costs by extending time between inspections. Execution of these projects will be managed collaboratively by Alstom’s teams in Richmond in Virginia; Jupiter in Florida; Calgary in Canada and Baden in Switzerland.
