MOESK to rebuild Moscow substation

Moscow United Electric Grid Co. (MOESK) launched a comprehensive reconstruction of the 110 kV Electrostal substation in the east of the Moscow area in August.

The scope of the rebuilding project calls for the replacement of a pair of 60-year-old transformers, nine 110 kV oil circuit breakers and eleven 35 kV oil circuit breakers.

MOESK and contractors will replace the old transformers with modern gas-insulated ones will be installed, which are more efficient, safer and more environmentally friendly, according to the company.

The project is implemented within the framework of the MOESK’s investment program. The project will be implemented over the next three years; the total amount of financing will exceed $22 million.
