Acciona to build wind turbines nacelle plant in Brazil

Acciona Windpower will launch its second wind equipment plant in Brazil, engaged with the production of turbines nacelles, in the fourth quarter of 2014. The other Acciona Windpower's plant in Brazil was launched in March in Simoes Filho, in Bahia state.

The plant's production capacity will be 100 units of the 3 MW AW3000 wind turbine. Through this project the company will comply with local content rules for the sale of wind turbines that the Brazilian National Social and Economic Development Bank imposes on wind power developers to obtain financing under special conditions.

The company has already six plants worldwide. Apart from the two Brazilian facilities, it has two wind turbine assembly plants in Spain and one in the U.S., and one blade plant, also in Spain.
