Toledo Edison customers targeted by scam

Toledo Edison, a FirstEnergy utility, wants to alert its customers about recent reports of potential door-to-door utility sales fraud.

Numerous reports have been received in northwest Ohio of door-to-door sales people claiming to be from Toledo Edison promising the homeowner they can save money on their electric bills. It also has been reported that these sales people may ask to see the customers' electric bills.

FirstEnergy's 10 electric distribution companies form one of the nation's largest investor-owned electric systems, serving customers in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virginia, Maryland, and New York. Its generation subsidiaries control more than 20,000 MW of capacity.
