The board of directors of the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) named Cheryl Hussey as vice president and chief financial officer.
Hussey will supervise the NYISO’s finance group, which is responsible for accounting, budgeting, treasury, contract administration, procurement, credit, customer settlements and settlements processes and controls.
“The board of directors recognized Cheryl Hussey’s experience in managing the NYISO’s budget and finances, her knowledge of the intricate workings of our wholesale electricity markets and her demonstrated commitment to our mission since joining the NYISO in 2008. I know she will be a valuable addition to our leadership team,” said Bob Hiney, the NYISO’s board chair.
Hussey, who has been with the NYISO since 2008, was promoted to the position from her role as controller and assistant treasurer.
As the NYISO’s controller and assistant treasurer, Hussey supervised preparation of the annual budget of capital and operating expenditures, determined the NYISO’s short-term and long-term financing requirements, administered collection and investment of cash receipts, supervised the NYISO’s contract administration and procurement function and established policies and procedures for internal controls.
Prior to joining the NYISO, Hussey worked for Albany Medical Center where she served as director of financial planning. Hussey is a certified public accountant and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the State University of New York at Geneseo.
