Wind turbine maker Suzlon enters North American market

Suzlon Group said it has upgraded its S97-2.1 MW wind turbine to handle higher wind speeds in a 60 Hz version for the North American market. The wind turbines will be available for sale after May 8 and for delivery in December 2013.

The S97 is designed to achieve higher average wind speed operation through modifications to the controller software and use of enhanced blade fiberglass materials.

Suzlon Energy Limited has its headquarters in Vadodara, India. In 2011, the company had a cumulative installed capacity of nearly 20,000 MW worth of installations in 28 countries.
