Tollgrade appoints Thomas J. Kolb to newly created COO position

Tollgrade Communications Inc., a provider of service assurance solutions to utilities and telecommunications providers, appointed Thomas J. Kolb as chief operating officer, a new position at Tollgrade.

As COO, Kolb will continue to report to Ed Kennedy, president and CEO of Tollgrade and provide the strategic and operational leadership over all aspects of Tollgrade's global broadband and smart grid business units, including product development, supply chain, services, customer support, marketing and sales.

"Tom has had an impressive career with more than 20 years of experience delivering operations and supply chain management best practices at global high tech companies. He is uniquely qualified to drive operational excellence company-wide as we expand our presence and solution portfolios in the smart grid and broadband markets," said Ed Kennedy, president and CEO, Tollgrade Communications Inc.

Kolb joined Tollgrade in 2008 as director of operations strategy and prior to appointment as COO, he held the position of vice president of operations. Before Tollgrade, he held several management positions at companies including Ericsson, Marconi and Fore Systems.
