Leviton wins funding for electric vehicle charging stations in NYC

Leviton won a $1 million grant to install electric vehicle charging stations across the state of New York in an effort to support Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo's "Charge NY" initiative.

Using the company's Evr-Green Dual Port Level 2 Charging Stations, Leviton will help enable electric vehicle charging at various workplaces throughout Upstate New York, New York City and Long Island.

Designed and engineered in the U.S., the Leviton charging stations enable fast charging of any SAE J1772 compatible electric vehicle.

The total $3.6 million project is funded by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority and the New York Power Authority. Through the Charge NY initiative, Gov. Cuomo hopes to create a network of 3,000 public and workplace charging stations across the state over the next five years and encourage more electric vehicles on the road.
