AECOM joint venture wins substation contract

AECOM Technology Corp., a provider of technical and management support services, won a 5-year contract worth up to $28 million by Australia-based utility company TransGrid to design and construct 90 substations in New South Wales, Australia.

The joint venture between AECOM and Powercor Network Services (PNS) will contribute to a number of project elements, including environmental-management and construction-phase support, as well as electrical, ground, structural, building design and engineering services.

The project is part of a substation program with a total design and construction value worth up to $1.7 billion.
