NorthWestern Energy requests for proposals for projects in Montana

Butte, Mont., Aug. 3, 2012— NorthWestern Corporation d/b/a NorthWestern Energy has issued a request for proposals (RFP) seeking up to 45 MW of renewable generation that will qualify under Montana's community renewable resource statutory requirement. The RFP is intended to identify resources that can help NorthWestern Energy meet its obligations to procure cost-effective renewable energy from community-owned projects in Montana.
Under current statutory requirements, NorthWestern Energy projects an additional need for community renewable projects starting in 2013. NorthWestern Energy encourages new and existing local developers to submit qualifying projects that provide a home-grown renewable energy resource for the benefit of its electricity consumers in Montana.
