Atlanta, August 14, 2012 — Skipping Stone announced that Jim Stovall has joined the firm as a senior consultant and the manager of the National Demand Response Directory in Skipping Stone's Atlanta office.
Jim has more than 30 years of experience in the demand response industry. He was with Scientific-Atlanta during the 1980s when the direct load control business was established in the U.S.
During that time, as the application engineering manager and marketing manager, he was responsible for the development of over 300 new customer and utility systems involving Scientific-Atlanta technology and equipment.
Jim established his own company in 1991 with a focus on assisting utilities develop and implement load management programs and systems. He provided customer program marketing, education and outreach, and system installation of the master stations and radio networks as well as management of the customer installation process for load control devices.
In 1999, Jim joined Comverge as the director of turnkey implementation and helped establish the company as the leader in the load management industry. During his tenure with Comverge, he was responsible for the development of over 50 new customer systems including the system at Rocky Mountain Power.
Stovall earned a BS (Electrical Engineering) from Colorado State University and an MBA from Georgia State University. He has been a member of IEEE for 25 years and is a Professional Engineer.
