Unirac wins contract for 110 MW solar generating facility

Albuquerque, N.M., July 17, 2012 — Unirac, Inc. won a contract by Bechtel Power Corp. to supply the ground mount system for the 110 MW AC Catalina Solar Photovoltaic Project in Kern County in Southern California.

The project is one of the largest photovoltaic ground mount installation in North America, projected to cover 1,100 acres and produce enough energy to power about 35,000 homes. Completion is scheduled for 2013.

The Unirac team has years of experience supporting developers and EPC companies in the successful construction of large solar projects. The Unirac ground mount solution, specifically engineered for the Catalina Solar project, combines its successful ISYS Ground Mount 2.0 with custom racking, resulting in an optimized total installed cost.

Unirac is North America's provider of solar mounting structures for residential, commercial and utility solar power systems. In addition to its work on the Catalina Solar Project, the company has provided mounting solutions for commercial and utility projects totaling more than 200 MWs in the past two years.
