North American Power introduces renewable electricity service to ComEd customers

South Norwalk, Conn., March 19, 2012 — North American Power, the energy company that has saved its customers millions of dollars on their electric bills while greening the power grid, has introduced service to customers of Commonwealth Edison.

North American Power's service offers residents and small businesses access to renewable energy that gives back to charity and delivers the power to earn each time a customer flips the switch through the company's customer referral model.

More than 200,000 Illinois residents have already made the switch to a retail electricity supplier with a 6.5 percent growth rate in ComEd alone in 2011; yet many remain confused about electric choice.

By visiting, ComEd customers can learn about their energy options and benefit from a rate that offers savings over the utility. ComEd continues to deliver the electricity, bill customers and handle customer service and repairs, with customers benefitting from a reduced energy supply rate from North American Power.

Every customer of North American Power automatically upgrades to 25 percent renewable energy and has the option to upgrade to 100 percent renewable energy. A switch to North American Power also allows customers to designate a worthwhile charity for North American Power to support each month at the company's expense via the one-for-one philanthropic initiative Mission to Millions.
