Siemens ready to set up wind power turbine plant in France

Paris, February 7, 2012 — Siemens France, a unit of German engineering group Siemens, plans to open a facility for the assembly, installation and activation of wind turbines in France, if its bid in the offshore wind power tender launched by the French government is accepted, according to reports.

Siemens is part of a consortium including GDF Suez, Vinci and CDC Infrastructure, which is bidding for the offshore wind farm of Saint-Brieuc.

The German group will also establish in France another site for the maintenance of the wind farm.
