Shaw Group wins fossil-fired maintenance contract with APS

Baton Rouge, La., February 27, 2012 — The Shaw Group Inc. won a new contract with Arizona Public Service Co. to provide maintenance and construction services to eight fossil power plants in Arizona and New Mexico.

The fossil contract is in addition to Shaw's contract with APS to provide maintenance, modifications, construction and radiological protection services to its Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, located 55 miles west of Phoenix, Arizona.

The undisclosed value of the three-year contract will be included in Shaw's Plant Services segment's backlog of unfilled orders in the second quarter of fiscal year 2012.

Shaw offers full-service plant engineering, reliability, turnaround and outage services with construction management and modification support. Shaw is experienced with retrofitting existing power plants with air quality control systems, including wet and dry flue gas desulfurization, NOX, and mercury removal and particulate emissions control systems.

Shaw is also a provider of nuclear maintenance, providing systemwide maintenance and modification services to 44 of the 104 of operating nuclear power reactors, including the country's two largest nuclear fleets and largest nuclear power plant.
