PG&E picks Cupertino Electric for 250 MW solar project

San Jose, Calif., October 17, 2011 — The Energy Alternatives Division of Cupertino Electric, Inc. was selected by Pacific Gas and Electric Co. to design and build a 20 MW solar photovoltaic project in Huron, California for the utility company.

Engineering of the project has begun and construction of the project is under way. The entire 20 MW project is anticipated to be complete and inter-connected by mid-2012.

The 20 MW Huron site is being designed and built by Cupertino Electric under a five-year PG&E clean energy initiative, which includes up to 250 MW of utility-owned solar generation. The Huron site represents part of the second 50 MWs of PG&E’s utility-owned generation plan.
