Westinghouse wins replacement steam generator contract for EDF nuclear fleet

Pittsburgh, September 29, 2011 — Westinghouse Electric Co. in France announced that it has been awarded a contract for the supply of 12 replacement steam generators for EDF's French nuclear fleet.

A provider of steam generators, Westinghouse has supplied more than 80 steam generators globally since 1987.

Westinghouse will provide engineering design, analysis, and fabrication for its technologically advanced steam generator and will deliver the steam generators to EDF in collaboration with several industrial partners, including Valinox Nucleaire in France for the manufacture of steam generator tubes, Mangiarotti S.p.A. in Italy for the steam generator assembly, but also other European forging companies.

Westinghouse, a group company of Toshiba Corp., is a nuclear energy company and a supplier of nuclear plant products and technologies to utilities throughout the world.
