Daniel Foley named CEO of Acciona Energy North America

Chicago, March 14, 2011 — Acciona Energy announced the appointment of Daniel (Dan) Foley to the position of CEO of Acciona Energy North America. Foley will apply his extensive experience in power marketing and the energy industry to solidify the company's market position in both wind and solar.

Foley moves into the CEO role from his current position of chief development officer for the company's North American renewable energy operations where he led the company's wind and solar development efforts throughout Canada and the U.S.

Foley's industry experience spans over 20 years of working within the energy industry, particularly in power marketing where he negotiated power purchase agreements and alternative structures to support the construction and financing of electric generation facilities.

Prior to his work with Acciona, Foley was director of power marketing at Invenergy and provided risk management consulting services to utilities, operating companies and other energy market participants as a senior manager for Deloitte and Touche.

Acciona Energy is a global operator in clean energy with over 20 years' experience in the sector and a strong presence in seven renewable technologies. It has installed over 9,000 MW for electricity generation, of which it owns 7,587 MW.

It has 217 wind parks (6,270 MW), 80 hydropower plants (912 MW); 4 CSP plants (214 MW), and photovoltaic and biomass plants. It manufactures wind turbines using proprietary technology and also has biodiesel and bioethanol plants.

It develops projects for itself and for third parties, is present throughout the value chain, produces and markets renewable energy and provides a wide range of services to its customers.
