EnerNOC asks FERC to protect demand response for PJM customers

Boston, Mass., February 23, 2011 — EnerNOC, Inc., a provider of energy management applications for the smart grid, filed a petition with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to protect customers who participate in demand response in the PJM Interconnection region.

This Petition for Declaratory Order is intended to resolve the uncertainty created by the joint statement issued by PJM and its Market Monitor on February 4, 2011 and ensure that demand response customers continue to receive full compensation for their contributions to grid reliability in PJM.

EnerNOC's regulatory affairs team is working to ensure that existing PJM market rules are maintained such that customers are not underpaid for verifiable load reduction activities that support PJM grid reliability.

EnerNOC has consistently worked with regulatory bodies to develop and protect market rules that fully value demand response resources across all of the markets in which it operates.

EnerNOC's regulatory advocacy efforts have helped shape market conditions that have saved ratepayers hundreds of millions of dollars.
