Cummins demonstrates new genset

Cummins Power Generation has demonstrated its new C2750 D5B genset in witnessed performance tests at its manufacturing facility in Kent, UK.

The company said engineering consultants and customers from Germany, Switzerland, Turkey and the UK had confirmed the genset’s ability to hit user-defined benchmarks, fulfil ISO 8528-5 G3 requirements for load acceptance, and meet the standard for 100% load rejection.

The tests produced figures for voltage and frequency variation together with the recovery times when the generator was subjected to step loads of 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% for load acceptance and load rejection.

Cummins said the visitors also saw the generator 'go beyond the required compliance' with G3 criteria when subjected to a single step load of 50%.

The company said the 2750 kVA genset is designed for commercial on-site power applications such as large manufacturing facilities, retail outlets, medical facilities and data centres worldwide.
