CHP units pass operational milestone

US-based cogeneration firm Tecogen has announced a milestone for its operational combined heat and power (CHP) units.

According to the company, its fleet of InVerde 100 kW units have exceeded two million cumulative total run-time hours.

Benjamin Locke, Tecogen’s co-CEO, said: ‘Tecogen was first to market with an inverter-based packaged cogeneration product. The several million hours of run-time now logged on the InVerde fleet represents a strong base of proven and reliable operating experience and reinforces our position as the leader in the category.’

The firm’s latest upgrade to the InVerde range was launched this spring. According to the company, new features include DC integration with battery or renewable power systems, 10-second black start capability, emission control technology and proprietary microgrid software.
