Brooklyn United Methodist Church Home, located in Brooklyn, New York, US, is home to a new combined heat and power (CHP) plant installed under a project with Blue Earth, Inc and Lockheed Martin.
The project is expected to significantly reduce the nursing home's energy use through replacement of existing heating and cooling units, installation of a larger standby generator, domestic boiler upgrades and the new CHP unit.
Blue Earth will provide services related to the construction of the project and have the operations and maintenance contract on the facility.
Lockheed Martin will manage the design, procurement, construction, and maintenance phases of the project, as well as perform the economic modelling to support the project finance activities.
Frank Armijo, Vice President of Lockheed Martin Energy, commented: ‘We are committed to helping businesses and organisations implement innovative ways to save energy now and into the future.’
