Gas genset to provide ‘juice’ for German juice factory

One of Europe’s largest fruit juice producers is to power a factory in Germany with a generator set from Centrax, the company has announced.

The steam injected gas turbine-based genset was purchased by juice maker riha WeserGold Getränke to provide power and steam for its production facility in Rinteln, 60 km southwest of Hanover.

The package featuring a CX501-KN7 turbine is expected to generate between 3 MW and 6 MW depending on the plant’s needs during peak load times and when production demand is higher, such as during apple harvesting season. Steam output is similarly expected to vary depending on production needs.

The project is planned to be installed and commissioned by June of this year.
