Finnish cereal firm to build bioenergy plant

Finland’s Raisio Group are set to invest $8.68m in the development of bioenergy plant.

Construction is to commence later this year and completion date is forecast for spring of 2017.

The company says the bioenergy plant will focus on the production of steam and district heating used in Raisio's industrial area.

The project is part of the company's goal to replace fossil fuels with renewable energy whenever it is ecologically and economically viable.

Raisio Oyj, known internationally as Raisio Group, is a Finnish company that makes cereal products and animal feeds and engages in life-sciences.
