CEZ express interest in EDF’s Polish CHP assets

Bohdana Horackova, the CEO of CEZ Poland has told a press conference that the company is interested in acquiring some of French utility EDF's cogeneration assets in Poland.

“Heating is an area that we want to develop in Poland. EDF's assets in Poland are interesting. We will be interested in them but everything depends on the conditions," Horackova said.

Another local utility, Energa also expressed an interest in possibly acquiring some of the plants.

EDF is the largest private energy producer in Poland with a 10% share of the generation market and 15% of the heating sector.

It owns coal-fired CHP plants in Gdansk, Gdynia, Torun, Krakow, Zielona Gora and Wroclaw.
