Pakistan cement firm inks cogen project deal

A unit of Pakistani cement firm Bestway Group has sent a delegation of executives to Shanghai Triumph Energy Conservation Engineering Co, Ltd (STEC) for the signing of a construction deal for a new on-site waste heat recovery power project.

The PAKCEM WHRPP development features a 12 MW waste heat recovery power plant at its Pakcem Kallar-Kahar operations. The implementation of this project, which is expected to cost $15 million, will reduce the cost of production, the company says.

Cement production capacity of the Bestway Group is over six million tonnes per annum, making it the largest cement producer in Pakistan.
