MTU genset deal for Turkish hospitals

MTU Onsite Energy diesel gensets are to supply emergency back-up power to a total of 35 health campuses in Turkey.

With a combined capacity of 56 MW of standby power, the Rolls-Royce subsidiary MTU will supply 10 units of the 16-cylinder Series 4000 diesel genset and one 8-cylinder Series 1600 unit to the Turkish medical institutions.

Under the deal with the Turkish Ministry of Health in Mersin and Bilkent, the engines are to be supplied to the DIA Holding construction company for Mersin (located in the south of Turkey) this November. A further 14 of the 16-cylinder and five 12-cylinder Series 4000 units will be shipped to Bilkent, near Ankara, in February 2016.
