US church to save with on-site solar

A 354 kW on-site solar array has been installed at the Grace Community Church in Maple Lawn, Maryland, USA.

Pfister Energy completed the project, which will offset more than 65% of Grace Community Church’s energy needs.

Blair Nordvedt, GCC’s Facility Manager, said: ‘In 2013 Grace started looking into solar photovoltaic (PV) power for the church building. Our facility is nine years old and has a large south facing, non-shaded metal roof.’

He added: ‘We performed extensive financial analysis and concluded that the project was well suited for significant to produce long term electric utility savings.’
