Italian papermill in cogen deal

The Favini papermill, located in Crusinallo-Verbania, northern Italy, is to be the site of a new Centrax Gas Turbines CX-KB5 turbine that will lie at the heart of a new combined heat and power (CHP) facility.

A2L Energy, an energy service company (EsCo), sourced the package from Centrax on behalf of paper company Favini, which produces high end paper and board for the luxury and fashion industries.

The unit will provide 3.8 MWe plus 23 tonnes per hour of saturated steam that will be used in the paper making process.

The unit is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2015.

UK-based Centrax specialises in the manufacture and service of gas turbine-powered generator sets ranging from 3.9 MW to 66 MW that use core engines from Siemens.
