Solar shop for Zambia on-site power

An energy kiosk project in Zambia aims to meet the needs of people who are not grid-connected by generating on-site solar power and offering it as a local service.

Financed by Alstom, the kiosk provides access to cheaper renewable electricity by autonomously producing its own energy. It will enable electricity to be supplied to around 500 people from the North Kariba region who will be able to charge a portable battery that will provide them with electricity at home.

Work is planned to start in April 2016.
