On-site power plant to serve Eurocement group

Maltsovsky Portland, a Eurocement company, is to build an on-site power plant in the Bryansk region of Poland, after signing an agreement with the Polish government.

The firm will build a 29 MW gas-fired power plant on site, which will later be upped to 48.65 MW.

The agreement was signed during the IV Slavonic International Economic Forum by the Acting Governor of the Bryansk region Alexander Bogomazov and Deputy General Director, Technical Director of JSC "Maltsovsky Portland" Sergey Bychkov.

Work is progressing on a 26.19 MW power plant on-site at Nevyanskiy Cement, another Eurocement plant. Eurocement plans to increase its power generation capacity to increase energy efficiency.

The Eurocement Group is the biggest supplier of cement, ready-mix concrete and aggregates in Russia. It has 16 cement plants across Russia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan as well as several concrete mix plants, concrete goods factories and aggregate-mining quarries.
