Cummins AvK alternators get UL certification

Cummins Generator Technologies’ AvK alternators have secured wide-ranging UL safety certification from Underwriters Laboratories Inc.

The company claims the alternators are the first in the world to achieve UL1004 approval for low, medium and high voltages across the product range of 600 to 11,000 kVA. The certification applies to the AvK DIG and DSG Series, from four through to 10 pole configuration.

Prasant Panigrahy, Engineering Manager, said: ‘With this approval, we are the first alternator manufacturer to achieve UL1004 approval on the full range of low, medium and high voltage synchronous products.’

All AvK manufacturing is conducted at Craiova, Romania.
