First heat pump deal from UK market

Tecogen subsidiary Ilios Dynamics Inc has announced the first sale of an HEWH-500-WS natural gas engine-driven heat pump into the UK building services sector.

The natural gas engine-driven heat pump is configured to use water as its heat source and will be installed at an undisclosed location in England by the end of June. Using a natural gas engine to drive the heat pump cycle with engine waste heat recovery improves efficiency.

Liam Flynn, Technical Director at energy services business GF Sustainable said: ‘The abundance of clean, low cost natural gas, coupled with the heat pump cycle makes this product very attractive.’
