Melbourne office tower to get trigeneration upgrade

An office tower in downtown Melbourne, Australia, is to upgrade to a trigeneration system using a gas-fired C600 micro-turbine from Capstone.

Optimal Group, Capstone's Australian distributor, secured the order for the 600 kW unit, which is expected to be commissioned later this year and designed to provide base load power with energy efficiency levels nearing 80%.

‘We are seeing an increasing number of businesses in Australia exploring environmental best practices and thus adopting CHP or CCHP technologies,’ said Jim Crouse, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Capstone Turbine.
