New on-site solar project in Lahore, Pakistan

Aleo Solar and energy provider GreenIndusTree have forged a partnership to help supply homes and companies in Pakistan with on-site solar photovoltaic power.

Aleo is supplying GreenIndusTree with 278 solar modules for the start of the project, which will power 18 homes which previously relied on diesel gensets. The solar power systems with a total output of around 100 kWp will be installed from April this year in Lahore, the second largest city in Pakistan.

GreenIndusTree builds the systems complete with battery storage. The solar storage systems have a capacity of 5 to 10 kWh.

‘Power cuts are a daily occurrence in Pakistan, even in major cities – and both industry and private homes are suffering as a result. The country has a population of around 200 million and is one of the up-and-coming emerging markets in Asia, but the demand for energy cannot be met. The energy requirements currently total 27 GW, while only 15 GW of electricity are actually produced. The situation has been getting worse for many years’, reports Dr Kaiser Chaudhary, Managing Director at GreenIndusTree.
